GNS3-Topology: NBMA over FRAME RELAY LAB

Written by LBSources from http://www.gns3-labs.com on June 13th, 2009 | 6 Comments

A member of the site name Angel Canario shared a basic lab topology that he put together. It’s not a lab exercise, but like many labs and topologies on the site; they can helpful to someone eventually. Angel has found this site to be very useful and says he’d donate all labs he creates once they’re complete. I say awesome :)

If you’d like to share your labs you can do so by following the steps here. Now onto the lab!

RUNNING OSPF ON A NON-BROADCAST MODE
NBMA over FRAME RELAY

•    DEFAULT MODE FOR X.25, FRAME RELAY, AND ATM NETWORK
•    NEIGHBORS ARE STATICALLY CONFIGURED
•    ACTS LIKE A LAN ENVIROMENT NETWORK
•    A DR/BDR MUST BE ELECTED (MUST HAVE FULL CONNECTIVITY)
•    MUST BE ONE SUBNET

NBMA over Frame Relay – Drawbacks
1.    Slow forming neighbors

Routers Used: 7200

IOS: c7200-jk9s-mz.124-13b.bin

Feature of Topology: NBMA, Non-Broadcast Multiple Access, Frame Relay, OSPF

i mean ..Just in the router3, all neighbor is configures staticly, neighbor 10.1.1.1 and 10.1.1.2 it’s ok, but why this line network 10.1.1.3 0.0.0.0 area 0 ???

    thank you.

Omar, i’m sure you already goy it, but this command tells the router to run ospf, i mean, send hellos and advertise network on interface with exactly that ip address, which is serial interface.
