GNS3 Topology: Featuring - Virtual Area Links, Multi and Inter Area OSPF & Some Redistribution
Written by LBSources from http://www.gns3-labs.com on November 21st, 2008 | 7 CommentsFound a nice OSPF lab over at the GNS3.net forums, but it wasn’t properly exported and packaged. So I did what I always do .. Put it together, cleaned it up and tested and it works flawlessly. Very nice lab with virtual area links, RIP redistribution, inter-area and multi-area OSPF.
Routers Used: 3640
IOS: c3640-ik9o3s-mz.124-17a
Feature of Topology: Inter-Area and Multi-Area OSPF, Virtual Area Links, RIP Redistribution

Hi LBsources
Do you have a task list for this wonderful lab ? So that we can have a handson experience in configuring various features and concepts.
Thanks

Hi LB…
I wonder, if my laptop can handle this huge topology. Iam using idle-pc and other gns3 features. My laptop is: Core 2 Duo 2GHZ, 3GB RAM L2 cache mem win xp.
I am afraid that it can not handle all those routers working at same time.
thanks

@M.Elhassan I’d say dont wonder and give it a shot
See how it works out. If it doesnt then you know your next step.

Yea, i will start crying.! :). Actually i found so many difficulties with the latest version of GNS v.0.6, i dont know what exactly the problem is, but i think there is a bug. Anyway iam back to v0.5.
LB many thanks again for your time and effort.

Yes,I too believe that 6.0.1 has a bug on it. It is shuting down on my all the time, I have difficulty saving my labs.
I think i will downgraded today.
With respect of handling this lab, start your topology and once is running. Open the Windows Task Manager. go to the processes tab and sort of out by image name, select dynamips process. right click on it, from the menu, select set affinity, and uncheck cpu 1. repeat this procedure for every instance of dynamips you find running on your pc.
